• Southeastern launches the key smartcard

    Southeastern Railway customers can now swap their paper Season Tickets for the new smart cards called ‘The Key’. Here are the advantages for our passengers. - Easier purchasing of tickets online, with no need to wait for tickets by post - The Key is registered to the customer so it’s easier to replace lost and stolen tickets - More durable so The Key won’t wear out as quickly as paper tickets, reducing the need to replace unreadable magnetic strips - Speedy and more reliable passage through automatic ticket barriers

  • Oxford Bus Company's customers can now 'shortcut their topup'

    Oxford Bus Company has recently put in vending machines in its High Street travel shop to further improve customer experience. The machines allow the company’s customers to shortcut travel shop queues and quickly and easily purchase their product, which is then instantly fulfilled onto their Key® smartcard. Payment can be made via debit or credit card.

  • keyGo – prepay on your key

    keyGo is Southern's new innovative product which allows customers to pay for their journey via a top up system - similar to a pay as you go. Once you have a key smartcard you will be able to register for keyGo! This will deduct £20 from your nominated payment card and journeys will be debited from this amount until it drops below £5, when a further deduction will be requested.

  • Southern Railway - Southern passengers to get the key to a Plug-In Prius at Lewes railway station

    Southern, in partnership with Co-wheels car club Elektromotive, Lewes District Council, eV South East Network and Toyota has unveiled a Plug-in Hybrid Toyota Prius at Lewes station. Southern passengers who hold the key smartcard will be able use it to join Co-wheels at a massively discounted fee and then use the card to drive the car away.
